Not Getting Traffic To Your Job Posting? Read this.

Getting unqualified traffic to your job posting? No traffic at all? Wondering why that is? Watch this week's video.

If your job posting isn’t getting any traffic I’m about to give you a tip that will make sure you get traffic every time. I get so many phone calls that start with this:

“Well my job post just doesn’t get any traffic. I’m not getting any qualified applications.” And my heart hurts for them ya know?

I understand what it’s like to put a job out there, expect so much, have so many high hopes about filling that req. Only to see a pile of unqualified applications OR no applications at all.

So, here are two suggestions I have for making sure that your job posting is getting MORE traffic:

The first one is to vary your sources.

If you’ve been posting to the same five places for the last five years maybe it’s time to try something different. But first, I actually want you to apply tactic number two. It’s really easy.

What you’re going to do is open Google right now and type in the job title that you have posted right now - verbatim. Every single ampersand, every single dash. Whatever you have put in there, verbatim. Then I want you to put in the word resume and hit enter.

What you’ll find in there are millions of resumes. If you’ve ever watched my job title ‘how to’ you’ve seen this in action. But what you’re looking for this time is to see if those resumes would be qualified for your job. If they're not you’ve probably got the job title wrong and that’s exactly why people aren't applying or finding your gig.

Discovery is step one of every job search and if no one ever finds your job they can’t apply.

If you’re really struggling to get those job postings overhauled you should check out our Recruitment Marketing Library
