    Thanks: A Letter To You

This is a borderline cheesy, with a side of feels, post. You've been warned.

Music has always been my outlet. Words when I had none. A guide when I was lost. The final straw to let out my "good cry." You know the feeling. That one song comes on or you pay attention just long enough to hear a lyric that punches you in the gut. It starts the emotional wheels and all of a sudden, you're sitting in your car sobbing. Sometimes it's a cry of relief. Sometimes it's not. But it's always a release of overwhelming feelings, at least temporarily.

This week as I launched Three Ears Media into the universe, I had so many feelings and music was one of the few ways I could even begin to pin down the words to say how it felt. How it felt to have so many people reach out with well wishes or ideas for how we might work together. The endless stream of advice from my mentors and friends who have been my cheerleaders for so many years now. How it felt to pitch my ideas and have people "get it." The level of gratitude I feel for each and every person who clicked on a post, sent a note or made a call is so big. Bigger than my ability to translate those feelings into words.

One song in particular struck a chord with me and while I feel really weird about posting lyrics in a blog post, I have to. I can't say it any better.

If you don't make it through my random song suggestion below, hear this. I'm so thankful for you. For your time, for your support, for your kind words. You made one of the most scary choices of my life feel right and I'll always be grateful for that. Know that I'm always here to pay it forward, cheer you on and pick you up if you fall down.

    Thank You by Bombadil

Forget about the ones who let you down but remember to stay gracious for the ones who stuck around. Thank the ones around you, if you win, but believe in yourself even if your own mother begins to doubt you. And take everyone you love, and write them down. You might not want to tell all of them, because that could weird some people out, but let them know you care, somehow...

But I just want to say thank you for all the time that you stayed by my side. What a wonderful feeling to feel like everything is right. What a wonderful feeling to know that everything is fine.

Keep your family close. Because when you get in trouble they'll be the last to lose their hope. Say your prayers every night. They don't have to be to God, it just helps to sort your thoughts. And you never know, they might be right. ..

But if there's something that you want with all your heart. That you want so much, it's tearing you apart. Well don't try to kill the fire, it has to go out on its own.
