I’m a Mudder Trucker, not a Tough Mudder

I just signed up for a Tough Mudder race. Haven't heard of it before? Watch this.

"If you can do this - you can do anything you put your heart and your mind to."

Seriously.  I'm doing that. Let's face it. I'm not a runner. I can't do even one pull up without some assistance. I'm not sure I could be described as someone in great shape. But for the past week (and the next 5 months), I'll be training for the Tough Mudder finish line. And it feels bigger than me. Bigger than anything I could ever accomplish. So I had this big emotion and I'm all proud of myself. Then, when my trainer told me this was going to be hell, I was (for good reason) really f-ing nervous. My TRAINER is scared for how she'll survive this and I think I'm going to finish?

Then I thought "Wait. In a race with this much mud, this much disgusting shit, there has to be a video of people falling down." Karma is going to be a bitch but it makes me feel better.

Stop judging me, I have a sense of humor and people falling down is really funny. The Jackass industry was founded on it.

I realized I was back to my recipe for burnout and put a stop to it this week thanks to a 2-year-old during play time.

This is really just another preemptive excuse for lack of posting. Catching up, keeping up and writing something that doesn't sound like I'm writing it with my thumbs on a train takes time. Time, of course, I don't have. Looking forward to speaking on The Business Case of LGBT Diversity tomorrow for two sessions and I hope […]
